American Sand Association Privacy Policy

American Sand Association intends for www.americansandassociation.org, www.asasand.com and its associated websites (now referred to as the ASA Website) to complement the services of the organization. American Sand Association believes that online privacy is important to the success of the Internet and electronic commerce. This statement sets forth American Sand Association's privacy policy for the ASA Website and describes the practices American Sand Association follows to respect the privacy of all visitors to this site. Before changes are implemented, American Sand Association will post the changes here before they go into effect.

By using this web site, you signify your acceptance of the terms of American Sand Association's privacy policy. Your continued use of American Sand Association's web site following the posting of any changes to these terms will mean that you accept those changes as well.

American Sand Association uses IP addresses to conduct system administration, report aggregate information and to conduct site analysis. American Sand Association does use cookies but only for “remembering a returning user or customer”. American Sand Association uses no third party ad services or pop-up windows. For credit-card transactions we use Verisign Pay-Flow Pro (now a PayPal Company) for secure transactions and Fast Q Communications for our internet connection.

American Sand Association has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. All computer identification on the Internet is conducted with IP addresses, which allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other. American Sand Association collects IP addresses in order to conduct system administration, report aggregate information and to conduct site analysis. If a visitor requests pages from ASA Website, our Internet server enters the visitor's IP address into a log.

To maintain visitor anonymity, the ASA Website does not associate IP addresses with records containing personal information. However, the ASA Website will use IP addresses to identify any visitors who threaten our service, site, customers, others or other malicious activity.

E-Commerce

The American Sand Association site features the ability to use credit cards for donations. By using the donation form the user is giving American Sand Association permission to verify that the credit card transaction is accepted. American Sand Association uses Verisign PayFlow Pro (a PayPal Company)for all on-line transactions. Our contract states that Verisign will only use the information for aggregate statistics. American Sand Association also uses THAWTE and GODADDY secure certificates to encrypt all information sent over the Internet. For additional security, once an on-line transaction is complete, American Sand Association will not keep the information on our Internet server.

If at any time the customer wishes to cancel these requests they may do so by either e-mailing, calling us directly, or editing your online profile to indicate this.

We will make every attempt to protect the personal information that you share with us. However, it is important to note that electronic mail (e-mail) is not secured against interception. If your communication is extremely sensitive, you may want to send it by postal mail instead.
